It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard David Barber, who departed this life peacefully, in his sleep at, his home in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, on March 20, 2025. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, Richard was a beacon of kindness and integrity, illuminating the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
A proud 1983 graduate of Fairview High School in Fairview, Pennsylvania, Richard continued his pursuit of knowledge at Mercyhurst College. His dedication to education laid the foundation for a successful career as a procurement consultant for Quality King Distributors, where his expertise and commitment earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Richard W. Barber and Kathleen Barber. Richard leaves behind a legacy of love and support through his three devoted sisters: Deborah Alberico, Karen Mathison, and Denise Holland. He also cherished the bonds he shared with his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and a great-nephew, who will carry his memory forward in their hearts.
Richard’s warmth, laughter, and genuine spirit will be profoundly missed, but his impact on those around him will live on. He had a unique ability to bring people together, and his stories and wisdom will be cherished in the gatherings of family and friends for years to come.
Richard will eternally rest with his parents at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, located at 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, Florida 33511. Details regarding the service will be shared with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Richard's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his generous spirit and love for helping others.
