
LAWRENCE III, Robert, 72, passed away October 8, 2010. The following is a passage written by Karen Lawrence entitled “Bob in a Nutshell”. Born in New York City, to his Ballerina Mom and Singing Star Dad, Later, with tennis his game, Duke University would never be the same, As he Hilch Tubed his way in the sixties, to a Masters Degree at UNC Lost in the world of the Apollo Program, Higher thinking, experiences challenging the imagination, reaching for the stars, Made him wish he were five foot eight, so he could fit into that Moon Suit! Filtered his way through Florida Filters, in the seventies, We met and fell in love instantly, while he porous over membranes, at Millipore Spending twenty-seven ionic years, “Wading in the Waters…”. Most filled with life’s demands, some breathtaking experiences, challenges to be met, and with family, friends and associates, the cherished levities… Character of strength, intelligence and inventive nature, Love and kindness, with an added sense of humor, Describe but a few of his praiseworthy attributes! Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Bob Lawrence, Jr. and Edith De Fay. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Lawrence; son, Bob Lawrence (Lynn); daughters, Danielle Mazziotta (Joe) and Sharon Lawrence; stepmother, Marie Lawrence; grandchildren, Christopher, Jake, Kenzie and Ellory and an extended loving family and friends. A Celebration of His Life will be held 5PM-7PM with a Memorial Service at 5:30PM, Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Lawrence Family Home.
