

GRIFFITHS, Terence “Grif”, 68, of Seffner passed away August 26, 2010. He was born in England on January 14, 1942. He was an area resident since 1987 coming from Minnesota. He had served four years in the United States Air Force; ten years in the Army Reserve; and was a high school teacher in Minnesota for fourteen years. Grif retired after 22 years as a Captain with the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office and while there he was an instructor in defensive tactics and firearms training. He developed his course in positive leadership training known as P.O.P.L. (People Oriented Positive Leadership). He was a Black Belt Karate instructor and was involved with Leadership Brandon through the Chamber of Commerce. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Griffiths; mother-in-law, Ethel Milligan; and his Yorkie, Pixie. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon; daughter, Tracy of Brandon; son, Ty and wife Jennifer of Tallahassee; mother, Lilian Martin of Spring Hill; father-in-law, Ellsworth Milligan of Seffner; brothers, David Griffiths and wife Phyllis of Brevard, N.C. and Ronald Griffiths and wife Linda of Hudson; and his “youngest daughter”, Mandi , the Yorkie. Grif very much loved and appreciated his family and co-workers. He was a friend to all. A memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Assembly Room of the Falkenburg Road Jail. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society.
