Tom was married to his wife Eloise for 23 years.
Tom loved being with his family and all his grandchildren and was very proud of each of them. He loved fishing and camping. He also liked watching TV at home and snoozing.
Tom proudly served his country in Vietnam. He was in the Navy, serving with the Special Forces UDT-11.
Tom was always a hard worker, both at his job and around the house. He worked for Creighton Brothers Awning Company for 18 years. Later he owned his own company, Tom's Rescreening and Repairs.
Tom was very handy around the house, making repairs as needed. He built the screen enclosure for his pool and screen porches for the house. He also put a lovely fish pond in the backyard.
Later in his life, Tom cared for his parents. He took good care of his mother as she grew older. Tom looked after his stepfather Ralph, often visiting him and helping him. Tom and Ralph would sit and watch television, in particular old westerns (Ralph's favorites).
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
