Vinnie is survived by his siblings Christine, John, and Laura and her husband Greg (Tampa, FL); his son, Timothy of Dryden, NY; and his granddaughter, Eliyana of Ithaca, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Mary Olivieri, and his brother, James.
Vinnie was born on December 28, 1956, in Brooklyn, NY, to Vincent and Mary (née Morelli) Olivieri. After graduating from high school he briefly pursued a brief career with the New York City Board of Education and then in harness racing. He later discovered his true calling behind the bar, where his sense of humor, quick wit, and unmatched ability to connect with people made him a natural. After relocating to Florida, he embraced the sunshine, beach life, trivia nights, and the simple joy of talking with people and making them laugh.
Vinnie had a way of turning strangers into friends. He loved the beach, good food, good laughs, the New York Mets and lively conversation more than just about anything. He wasn’t one for pretense. He valued kindness, laughter, and the moments that brought people together.
A celebration of Vinnie's life will be held on Saturday June 7 at the Strawberry Ridge Clubhouse 3419 SR 60 Valrico, FL 33594 from 1pm - 4pm. The family would like to give special thanks to everyone who has expressed their support and love and the first responders of Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring Vinnie’s memory in a way he would have appreciated: buy yourself something that brings you joy, tip your server like a legend, or support your favorite cause.
