Peacefully, at home, on Friday, November 15th, 2013, in his 95th year. Predeceased by his wife of 62 years Evelyn Victoria (nee Soderstrom). Loving father of Gregory (Marilyn), Karen Aitchison, Craig (Raye-Ellyn) and Lori. Devoted grandfather of Kristen Aitchison (Michael Patriquin) of Nova Scotia and Andrea Judd (David) of Queensland Australia. Great-grandfather of Sebastian, Sierra and Elijah Rein. Predeceased by his parents John and Hannah McDonald, his siblings and his infant daughters Margaret (1949) and Jeanette (1952). Family and friends will be received at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL” 96 West Street, on Monday, November 18th from 7-9pm and Tuesday, November 19th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm with Parish Prayers at 8:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Basil’s Roman Catholic Church, 50 Palace Street, on Wednesday, November 20th at 11am. Cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy donations to the Spina Bifida Association, the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Basil’s Church would be appreciated by the family.
