It is with a sad heart that we mark the peaceful passing of this Father of 5 and Grandfather (Gido) of ten at St. Josephs Lifecare on the morning of Saturday, August 10, 2013. Born in the Hranke Kuty Ukraine, A staunch Ukrainian Nationalist and World War II war veteran who met his wife and mother of his children Catherine in Bradford Yorkshire where they lived for over 18 years, he and his family emigrated to Canada in 1966 and settled in Brantford Ontario. Andre was a proud union Joiner and Carpenter for over 40 years. A family man, he was an active member of Ukrainian Freedom and Multicultural associations and the Mohawk Park Rink association. He will be sadly missed by wife Catherine and children, Tonia (David), Peter (Sherry), Nicholas (Jackie), Catherine (Douglas), Michael (Deborah), and 10 grandchildren A private family service was held at “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL” (519)759-2211 on Sunday, Aug 11, 2013.
