The family announces with profound sadness the sudden passing at home on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, in her 67th year; Carol Mayer (nee Clavette); beloved wife of the late Alex Mayer(1996); loving mother of Donna Baluk and her husband Peter, David, Richard Mayer and his wife Nycole; cherished Grandma of Amber, Krystal and Peter Baluk, Christopher, Kimberly, Benjamin, Alexander and Elisabeth Mayer. Carol will be dearly missed by longtime companion Rick Tate. Survived by her sister Doreen McDougald of Cornwall and sister-in-law Edith Clavette of Brantford. Predeceased by her brother Richard Clavette and sister Claire Vincent. Carol will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West Street, on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM with Parish Prayers at 4 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly Street, on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 10 AM. Cremation to follow.
