Jane Louise Killingbeck

Much loved wife of Gerry and dear sister of Bob and James. Loving mother of Chris Blenkinsop, Sara Squizzato (Chad). Cherished stepmother of Michael Killingbeck (Janice) and Lori Lompa. Jane will be remembered with love by her grandchildren Amaya, Caiden, Nathan, Emily, Alexander, Laura, Trevor, Trina, Dylan, Sarah, Victoria and Cassandra. She will be missed by Gerry’s sister, Bonnie King, and her husband, Fred.

Jane spent her life bringing happiness and joy to her family, her high school girlfriends, her co-workers both at Ontario Hydro and the Brantford Expositor where, as the receptionist, she was the unforgettable and happy voice of the company. Everyone who interacted with Jane talked about her welcoming smile, her joyful enthusiasm and her positive approach to life where she constantly saw the bright side of all challenges. Bringing happiness to others through caring actions, unexpected gifts or thoughtful greeting cards were part of Jane’s passion in life, whether these actions were directed to family, friends, or often to strangers who looked like they needed a caring hand or a ray of sunshine in their life. She will be greatly missed at the John Noble Home where, for 13 years, she was a tireless volunteer bringing both hope and happiness to all whose lives she touched. In addition, Jane volunteered at the First Baptist Church Food Cupboard program. Jane was an avid shopper and made countless friends at many retail stores around the city and at the Brantford Market where everyone knew her by name. Jane and Gerry spent fun-filled summers with close friends at their boat in Port Dover where she was always the life of the party. For years, Jane and Gerry enjoyed many cruises and vacation time in Florida. Jane showered the world with her smile and the world smiled back at her – so much love for so many people.

A Celebration of Jane’s Life will take place at Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home, 96 West Street on Saturday, December 9th, between 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. Cremation will have already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jane’s honour can be made to the John Noble Home. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family below.
