Joseph Adam Pikula

Peacefully at home with his family at his side, Joe passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday April 26, 2015 in his 71st year. Loving husband of Bernice. Dear father of Alison and Todd Harrison, Nadia and Rob Crane and Joe and Tiffany Pikula. Loving Dziadziu of Ryan, Logan, Scott, Nathan, Avery, Hudson, Trent, Nolan and Brynley. Son of the late Joseph and Mildred Pikula and dear brother of Henry and Mary Pikula and Tom and Joan Pikula. Dear Brother-in-law of Ed and Laurel Karkut and predeceased by sister-in-law Joan Karkut and father and mother-in-law Albert and Cecylia Karkut. He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Joe was fortunate to be a member of the Grey Cup Championship team (1963) with the Hamilton Tiger Cats, he was a retired employee with the L.C.B.O. and Flamboro Downs. The family would like to thank Dr. Maria Deleon-Matsuda and nurse Emma along with all the doctors and nurses at the Brantford General Hospital and Juravinski Cancer Clinic. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL” 96 West Street on Tuesday April 28th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and on Wednesday April 29th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. CWL Rosary at the funeral home, Wednesday at 3:30 pm and Parish Prayers at 8:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 235 Brant Avenue on Thursday April 30th at 10:00 am. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph’s Church Scholarship Fund, the Elevator Fund or to a special charity of your choice would be appreciated.
