Leonard Wilde

After a courageous battle with cancer, at the Brantford General Hospital on Sunday January 17th 2016 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Margaret. Dear father of Leonard (wife Marnie) of Cape Coral Florida. Dear grandfather of Trenton (Zuzanne) of Waterdown, Krysta (Craig) of Vancouver, Aaron Dinsmore (Jennie) of Waterford, Dillon Dinsmore of Brantford. Great-grandfather to Jacob, Lily and Jaxon. Survived by sister Mildred Crawford. Predeceased by his parents Harry and Rose, brothers Harry and Clifford and a son Gerald. Leonard was a long- time member of Doric Lodge, Dunsdon Legion, a veteran of the RCAF (WW11), a member of IBEW Local 105 Hamilton and served on that executive board. He was active in girls softball and was coach and manager of Westdale Angels, Ontario Women’s champions and was inducted in the Sports Hall of Recognition. He was active in the Westdale community.

The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL” 96 West Street on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Masonic Service (Brant Lodge #45) will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 1:30pm. A Celebration of his life will be held in the chapel on Thursday January 21st at 11:00 am.
