After a brief illness at the Brantford General Hospital on Saturday May 28, 2011 in her 81st year. Beloved wife of John. Dear mother of Anna (Edward) Thompson and Daniel Pich. Dear Baba of David and Andrew Thompson and predeceased by her brothers. Luba was a retired R.N.A. at the Brantford General Hospital, an active member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist and was very proud of her Ukrainian heritage, teaching countless children the art of Easter egg decorating.
The family will receive friends at the “Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home and Chapel”, 96 West Street on Monday May 30th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Panachyda at the funeral home at 7:30 pm. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist, 100 Terrace Hill Street on Tuesday May 31st at 10am. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
