It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, whose life was cut short on January 27, 2026, just days before her 83rd birthday. She was born in Brantford on January 30, 1943, the fourth of five children born to the late Barbara and Frank Csetneky.
She dedicated her life to caring for others through a long career in the medical field, serving as a nursing assistant, medical transcriptionist, clerical worker, and in patient registration. Her compassion and commitment to service were evident in all that she did. She was actively involved in the Hungarian community and was a devoted parishioner of St. Pius Church.
She was not only our mother, but our friend, our hero, and the heart of our family. Her strength, determination, and resilience were the blueprint by which we learned how to live. Though she faced many medical challenges throughout her life, she never allowed them to define her, always demonstrating the true meaning of perseverance.
While we grieve her loss, we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, free from suffering, and soaring like an angel.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Susan (Ron), son Imi (Nicole), sister Shirley Gillies, grandchildren Andrew (Dawn), Ashley (Mat), Isaac, and Ethan, and great-grandchildren Cameryn and Cayleigh.
Missed and loved always, her memory will live on in all of us.
In honour of our mother, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
A celebration of Margaret's life will be held in the spring.
