

It is with great sadness that the family of Piroska Laczko announces her passing on September 26th, 2017, in her 76th year. Piroska was born in Hungary in 1941 and was married to her beloved husband Vencel in 1960. In 1973, they left Hungary with their two children in search of a better life and moved to Austria. Later that year, they moved to Canada which became their home. Piroska’s passion in life was her family, cooking, gardening and just making sure her family was looked after. She is predeceased by her husband Vencel (2006). She will be sadly missed by her children Ava (Blair) and Vencel (Tracy), her grandchildren, Andrea (Pat), Cassandra (Tom), Katrina, Thomas (Olivia), and Mihaly. She is survived in Hungary by her sisters Manci and Ilona as well as many nieces and nephews. In her spare time, she loved volunteering at the Albion St. Hungarian Hall and loved seeing her heritage carried on through her children and grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West St., Brantford, on Friday, September 29th, 2017 from 7pm-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 133 Murray Street, Brantford, on Saturday, September 30th at 9:30am, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Reception will be held at the Brantford Hungarian Hall, 104 Albion St., Brantford, following the interment. Online condolences may be made at www.thorpebrothersfh.com.
