

Peacefully in his sleep on Thursday April 10, 2014 in his 85th year. Loving husband of his first wife Margaret (1991). Dearest husband of Lillian and loving father of Donna (John) Thompson of Burlington. Dear grandpa to Ryan (Jessica), Brandon and Danielle and great grandpa to Amelia. Dear step-father to Robert (Joanne) Yuhasz, Linda (Rick) Straiko, Gordon (Wendy) Yuhasz, Howie Yuhasz (Tammy), Michael (Gwen) Yuhasz and James (Kelly) Yuhasz. Step-grandfather to Jennifer (Ron), Luke (Kate), Zack, Mia (Matt), Lila, Rebecca, Declan, step-great grandfather to Jacob, Marshall, Adeline and Octavia. Predeceased by a stepson Kenneth and a step- grand daughter Molly. Brother of Olga Kovach, Joe, Ed (Mary), and Frank (Betty) Tamas. Predeceased by a sister Dorothy and brothers-in-law Frank and Bill. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and extended family. Bob was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a long standing member of St. Basil’s Parish Community and followed his fathers footsteps and operated Balazs’s Grocery Store on Duke Street for many years.
The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL” 96 West Street on Sunday April 13th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm with Parish prayers at 3:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Basil’s Church, 50 Palace Street on Monday April 14th 2014 at 10:00 am. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Stedman Community Hospice would be appreciated.
