Barbara Helen Garcia, age 63, of Port Orchard, WA, beloved Mother, Grandma, Wife, and Sister, drew her last breath July 3, 2020, after succumbing to a 5-year-long battle with cancer. She left this life with her husband and children by her side and moved on to her heavenly home, where she is reunited with her mother, Marie Frasier.
Barbara was born January 29, 1957, in Yakima Washington. As a child, she lived in Walla Walla, WA, with her mother, brother, and sister. They all moved to Port Orchard, WA, where Barbara raised her family. She has six children, seven grandchildren, and two great- grandchildren. Barbara’s priorities in life were her children and grandchildren, whom she cared for selflessly. Barbara strived to make a difference in the world. She once served in the National Guard. Additionally, she was employed long-term at Kitsap Recovery Center, where she developed life-long friendships with her coworkers.
Family meant everything to Barbara. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. In her eyes, each one of them was perfect, especially her grandchildren. She was the type of mother who went out of her way to make sure her family was happy and cared for. Barbara was her family’s number one cheerleader in life. Her favorite hobby was watching her children play sports, especially baseball. She supported and cheered all her kids on about their dreams. Barbara had a light about her. She always saw the good in people. She had that quirk about her that made her feel comfortable and safe to be around. Barbara’s unconditional love for the people she cared about is what made her who she is.
Barbara’s mortal form leaves behind her loving family in her husband, Joseph, her children, Lisa, Robby, Erik, Ashley, Jeremy, and Alex, her grandchildren, Jesse, Joslyn, Trinity, Kaleb, Austin, Luke, and Ryleigh, her great-grandchildren, Violet, and Corbin. Additional family members include her brother, Richard and wife Marcia, her sister Caroline and husband Dan, plus many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Barbara was the heart and soul of her family and will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Barb’s service will be held at Miller-Woodlawn in Bremerton, WA on Tuesday September 8, 2020, at two o’clock. Unfortunately, due to Covid, there is a max of 30 people, so if you wish to pay your respects at this time, please contact her husband or one of her children.
