Kris attended Haddon Elementary, Coontz Jr. High, and graduated from West Bremerton High in 1978. She was the president of the Pep club and played the flute in the band, "The Pride of Puget Sound".
Kris was the proud owner of the very successful restaurant, Ben Dews Clubhouse Grill on 6th Ave in Tacoma.
Kris loved all sports, especially attending Husky games and watching the Seahawks. Kris also loved heading south to Palm Desert, California to her winter home. She loved going down there any time of year as she loved the heat.
Kris was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Marlyn, her uncles Jack and Bob, grandparents George and Janice (Jeffers) Minder, Loretta (Marron) Geer and Carl Carlson, and many Minder great aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her two brothers, James of Chico, WA, Steven of Bremerton, WA, and her favorite (and only) nephew Connor of Bozeman, MT. Three Carlson cousins also survive her: Robert, John and Cindy, all of the Bremerton area. And many Minder and Gaffke cousins in the Poulsbo area and in Montana.
Kris should be remembered for her resilience, her fighting spirit, her sense of humor but most of all her generosity. She was always happy to donate to a charity and had her door open to her Palm Desert home to anyone who wanted to stay there and soak up some sun.
She will be missed by the many people she touched over the years.
In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate your generous donation to the Chuck Semancik Foundation in Kris Tweten's name.
There will be two celebrations of life for Kris. The first Saturday November 2 at 3:30pm in Kris's restaurant Ben Dews Clubhouse Grill. The second on Sunday November 17th at 2pm at the Kitsap Golf and Country Club.
