

Ronald L Neel, born July 17, 1937 in Newark, Ohio to Ralph and Viola Mae (Swinehart) Neel, passed away peacefully June 16, 2016 in Bremerton, Washington. He was married to the love of his life, JoAnn on March 2, 1970 in Issaquah, WA; whom he was married to for 46 years. Ronald graduated from Sheridan HS, in Thornville, Ohio in 1955 and graduated from Ohio Technical Institute in Columbus, Ohio in 1960; where he received a degree as an Electronic Engineering Technician. He spent much of this career as an electronic technician, which he did for 33 years before retiring in September 1993. He also worked as a custodian for CKSD from February 1997-October 1998, and for BAE Systems from 2002-2007. Ronald was a soldier in the United States Army and served from Oct 1955 until Sept 1958 as a SP3. He received awards as a Recording Specialist, and Professional Studio Audio. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Viola Neel. He was survived by his sister, Sue (James), Adams (GA), his wife, JoAnn, his sons, Brent (Kim) and Scott (Lynn), 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 8 nieces and nephews. Ronald had many hobbies including gardening, hunting, fishing, golf, and traveling. He was also a member of several different organizations: Calvary Chapel of Silverdale, Eagles, NRA, North American Hunting Club & Fishing Club, National Wildlife Federation, the Heritage Foundation, and Roeley MT Elk Foundation. Ronald loved Hangtown Fries, and steak, with coffee with cream and he loved to play cards. Ronald taught us many things while he was here with us. Some important things he taught us were to never leave your baseball mitt out in the rain, and to keep your gun powder dry. We will always remember him smiling and his willingness to help others. His service will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 1:30 pm at Calvary Chapel of Silverdale, followed by an inurnment at Tahoma National Cemetery.
