Thomas Carlyle "Sarge" Christopherson of Port Orchard passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012. The grandson of Norwegian immigrants, he was born July 17, 1928 in Minnesota to Thomas and Svalaug Christopherson.
As a teenager, he moved to Bremerton in the 1940's with his parents where they became members of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and he served as an Altar Boy.
He was proud to serve his country in both the Air Force and Army, with tours in Korea and Viet Nam, among others. He became a member of the VFW and enjoyed many parades and other activities before his poor health kept him from participating any longer.
He is survived by his wife Kim, daughter Susan, son William, his sister Sylvia Worth and her husband Bill and their daughters Patricia Dunlap, Joanne Wilkinson, and Dianna Worth and their children.
He worked for many years at Ace Paving Company alongside his nephews, Richard, Bruce and Roy Christopherson, and his niece, Linda Christopherson Newsome. They survive him along with their children and grandchildren.
He is also survived by three sons from his first marriage, Michael, Thomas Colin and Charles Christopherson and their children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, infant nephew, his brother Sam Christopherson, and his son John Christopherson.
Carlyle, T.C., Sarge or Unk, however you knew him, he was definitely a character not to be forgotten. He will be remembered fondly by his extended family and friends.
