Victor passed away at the young age of 76. He was actually the longest living male in both his parents' bloodlines. He was always an over achiever; tallest of 12 siblings, 11 pounds at birth and lone college graduate. Vic graduated from The University of Idaho with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He continued onto a long and successful career in aerospace engineering. He was employed by Boeing, MacDonald Douglas, Lockheed, Sperry Rand and Ford automobiles. He was a young engineer on the Apollo 6 mission and was a test driver for Ford Motor Corp.
Growing up in Wallace, Idaho, Victor was driven to move forward. Born the seventh child in a very poor and struggling family, he started working at age eleven. He had a paper route, set bowling pins in the local alley, worked for the forestry service during college and was a miner for Hecla Mining. Wallace was a tough lead, zinc and silver mining town with eight bars and eight brothels within an eight block stretch. His overburdened mother would often "borrow" his earnings to feed the younger children. He could always count on his older sister and her husband to give him a good hot dinner when he came to visit.
Victor met his wife Patsy in St. Louis in a carpool going to work at MacDonald Douglas. They married two years later and started a family. Many moves around the country from Northern and Southern California; Huntsville, Alabama; Detroit, Michigan; back to Mt. View, California until finally landing and staying for 40 years in Bremerton, Washington working for the Trident Missile and Submarine program at Subase Bangor.
Victor was a season and accomplished bowler, a frustrated golfer, a life-long gambler and work hard/play hard kind of guy. He leaves behind four sisters, one brother, two daughters, four grand/step-grand children, one son-in-law and 25 nieces and nephews. He was very proud of being a six-gallon blood donor and a two-diamond level player at his house of worship: Suquamish Clearwater Casino and Resort.
