February 14, 1914 - September 30, 2014. Virginia Angelina Righi Gallucci was born near Modena, Italy and attended a convent school and received a teaching degree from the University of Bologna before moving to Bremerton to join her parents and siblings in 1936. Virginia met Vincent Anthony Gallucci (Jim) of Elmira, New York who was a sailor at the Bremerton Naval Shipyard when her family invited him for a holiday dinner. They were married in 1937. Jim and Virginia spent a few early years in San Francisco, returning to Bremerton to raise 3 children. Virginia spent many years teaching Italian and sewing at Our Lady Star of the Sea Elementary where she donated her salary for students' tuition. Very outspoken and funny to the end, Virginia was also recognized as a beautiful seamstress and for her homemade cappelletti served in her bright yellow kitchen.
