In Loving Memory of Angella Mechelle Moore

March 31, 1954 - January 4, 2025

Angella was born on March 31 1954 to Maggie Louise Moore and Roosevelt Moore. She was a proud native of Washington, D.C. where she received her education at Rabaut Junior High School and Roosevelt High School. She continued her academic journey at Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree.

She was a dedicated and cherished member of the Greater First Baptist Church. After her graduation from Bennett College Angella was inspired by the examples set by Cammie Means and Louise Moore which ignited her lifelong commitment to education. Her teaching career commenced at Holy Comforter St. Cyprian, where she dedicated six years of her life from 1979 to 1985. Following this, she joined Emery Elementary School, where she had the opportunity to work alongside her mother, Maggie Louise Moore, for a year from 1985 to 1986. Angella then moved to LaSalle-Backus Elementary School, where she devoted herself to her students for an impressive 32 years, culminating in her retirement in 2011.

Throughout her career, she profoundly touched the hearts and minds of her students, colleagues, neighbors, and friends. Her unwavering dedication to teaching inspired many, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

On January 4, 2025 Angella was called from Labor to Reward. Angella leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Sharrod Jerome Moore.

A visitation for Angella will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home, 3401 BLADENSBURG RD, BRENTWOOD, MD 20722, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
