

Antonio Candelario Cuellar Merino, our beloved 91 year old father passed away on January 15th, 2018 in Marietta, GA. This was his home for the last 12 years. Prior to his move to Georgia, he resided in Maryland for thirty-five years. He was preceded in his death by his loving wife of 46 years, Tita Altagracia Merino, his son Ramon Merino, his sisters Carmen and Marina Merino, and his parents Sebastian and Amparo Merino.
He is survived by his children, Julio Merino (Jean), Jeannie Jankowski (Eric), Tony Merino (Celeste), Vanessa Yamaguchi (Kai Yamaguchi, former spouse), Jose Flores (Leticia), and Francisco Merino. In addition, he leaves behind a legacy of his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Born and raised as a El Salvadoran Caballero (cowboy), the oldest of eleven children. He ventured to the United States for new opportunities in the 60's. Our father overcame many obstacles, and he was a role model of hard work, and perseverance. He and our mother became American citizens in 1994. His love for his family, his ever-youthful, charismatic personality, his strength and words of wisdom brought great joy to our family and friends. He lit up our lives, filled our hearts with love and will never be forgotten.
There will be a wake on Friday, January 26 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home: 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood Maryland 20722. Saturday, January 27, 10:00am Viewing, followed by a church service at St. Mary's Catholic Church: 7301 Annapolis Road, Landover Hills Maryland 20784. Repast following the funeral service at the St. Mary's Catholic Church Burgundy Room.
