

Brenda Carol Crutchfield Allen was born on Sunday May 21, 1944 to Dorothy Carol Prue and Dorsey F. Crutchfield in Washington,DC.When Brenda was growing up at a very young age she accepted Christ and has been a member of Turner Memorial AME ever since.
Brenda was the strongest,courageous,kind,sweet and compassionate person one could ever meet.
Brenda was educated by DC public schools such as Holy Redeemer, Paul Jr. high school and Theodore Roosevelt High School. Not long after, Brenda continued to work hard and strive for her success, she met the love of her life.
In May of 1966 Brenda Crutchfield and Andre’ Allen were married. Brenda and Andre’ Began to build their legacy. Then soon after Brenda was the !st. African American woman to be hired and work for Washington Federal Saving & Loans in Southeast Washington,DC.She also worked for the government, NASA, Naval Warfare Center, W.Bell Jewelry and Danac.
In 2005 Brenda retired, she lived and loved to fellowship in church and with her family and friends. She also liked to travel, shop, go to the theater and shows. She loved to listen to her music (Oldies & Goodies).
Brenda was a beautiful, smart, hard working Wife, Mother,Grandmother, Great- Grandmother, Sister and Friend.
Brenda was survived by her husband , Andre’ Allen, her children; Brian (Karen Brown Allen), Andrea and Angela Allen, her grandchildren ;Daniel, Briana, Cornell, Taniyah and Dylan Allen, Osha and Christopher Gant, Aaron Simmons, her great-grands ;Lena, Daniel and Madison Allen, and a host of life-long friendships.
