Carla Bowers Wynn

Carla “Kathy” Bowers Wynn was born on December 23rd, 1958, in Youngstown, OH and peacefully departed this life on May 10th, 2026. She was born to Lindsey and Dorothy Bowers. However, Carla, along with her sisters April, Clara, and Barbara were lovingly raised by their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Conway in Warrenton, GA.

Carla graduated from Warren County High School. She followed her sister April to Washington, DC by continuing her education at Howard University. While attending, she met the love of her life, DeWayne Keith Wynn. Their loving union was blessed with their son, DeWayne Keith Wynn II.

After College, Carla devoted many years of service to the insurance industry, where she built respected and rewarding career. Beyond her education and work, Carla was an avid reader and an active member of multiple book clubs. She was also an exceptional baked, affectionately known by family and friends by her delicious baked goods.

During Carla’s illness, her sister April devoted herself daily to her care by preparing meals, visiting daily, advocating for her, and ensuring she was never alone. Their bond was extraordinary, and April’s devotion never wavered. Left to cherish her memory are her son DeWayne Keith Wynn II, her sisters April Keyes, Barbara Finch, Carol Jean Bowers, Linda Bowers, and Ada Hill; and brother, Kevin Bowers; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Carla’s warmth, kindness, and loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who know and love her. We will forever love and miss her.

Visitation will be held at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home, 3401 BLADENSBURG RD, BRENTWOOD, MD 20722, US, on May 31, 2026, from 10:00 followed by a Funeral Service at11:00 am. Interment will take place at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 BLADENSBURG RD, BRENTWOOD, MD 20722, US, on May 31, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
