Carliece L. Snowden Lee was born in Annapolis Neck, Maryland to the late Joseph Matthew Snowden and Dorothy Ann Watkins. She was raised by her devoted foster parents, the late James Leonard and Mary Elizabeth Harris in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her formal education was received in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Married to the late William Erving Lee, and her children were raised in New Jersey prior to returning to Maryland as her permanent domicile.
“Momma Lee”, as she was so affectionately known, was an example of her creed “can not does not exist.” Her talents in ballet and art was a quiet kept secret but her interests also included her love for literature, culinary arts, collecting dolls, Asian art, and of course, anything equestrian. Her love of music was classical, gospel, and country and western. She loved the outdoors and gardening. She loved the simple life. But her passion were her children. She pushed the importance of education and encouraged them to dream, often providing incentives for her children to successfully reach their goals.

Family Appreciation: To My Family: The tears and pain will come and you will ask, why. But know I am at peace knowing my sons, daughters, siblings, and their children can pass on a very proud heritage. Your ancestors instill in you the fervent will to learn and be tenacious in obtaining your individual dreams and goals. I am so proud and humble to witness your growth, strength, and challenges. As a witness, I became a humble scholar. With more love than life, I thank you! Love, Momma Lee
