

Donald was born in Elizabeth, NJ, on August 9, 1955, the third son of the late Jesse Lee and Clara Edwards. He is survived by his wife Angela Dory-Edwards, one son Wendell (Julianna) Edwards, two daughters, Caira (Alfred) Gonzales and Leah Hassan; stepson Harrison (Nadia) Dory, stepdaughter Stephanie (Julius) Wood, and eleven grandchildren. He is also survived by his four siblings, their spouses, and several nieces and nephews.
Donald graduated from Linden High School, Linden, NJ, in1975, and attended ASTI Tractor Trailer Academy in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was a bus driver for Albany Transit CDTA in Albany, NY for over 15 years. He moved to Alexandria, Virginia in 2004 and was a bus driver for Fairfax Connector. Several years later, Donald was an Armed Truck Driver for Dunbar Armored in Springfield, Virginia. Donald retired from Dunbar Armored in 2016.
Donald enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and playing with his grandchildren. He also had hobbies, roller skating, bowling, kite flying, fishing, and of course riding his Goldwing motorcycle. He enjoyed going to lighthouses with Angela and eventually they went to all 24 lighthouses in the state of Maryland which owe their longevity to historians and volunteers. Donald loved going on Cruises, traveling, and visited Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Tampa, Florida Keys, San Francisco, Las Vegas, to name a few places. Donald loved nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed music and would spend his time listening to 80’s and 90’s R&B whenever he could.
