Tootie was educated in the DC public school system. Tootie devoted her whole life to supporting her family and the community around her. Tootie enjoyed family game night and an occasional trip to the casino. She loved to curl up with a good book or turn on her favorite game show.
Tootie had four kids but was a surrogate Mother to whoever embraced her family. You could always find her putting together talent shows, Easter Egg hunts, or baking her favorite sheet cake for the neighborhood. She always gave selfishly to those who came into her life
Tootie was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, in-law and friend. As her kids got older Tootie continued to help others. She began working at St Ann’s Infant Home where she cared for and nurtured abused children. She later left there and continued her work in childcare at the Hospital for Sick Children where she worked for 10 years.
Tootie was preceded in death by her husband Lucius G Taylor Sr with who she married in 1959 and they shared a lifelong unbreakable love affair.
Tootie was a devoted to her family and leaves her children: Lucius G Taylor Jr. (Patricia) Alicia Taylor Brown (Carlos) James Taylor (Audrey) and Cynthia Taylor, grandchildren, Lucius G Taylor III, Patricia Taylor Hart, Michael Taylor, J. Wesley Taylor, Aaron Little, Jordan Brow, Miles Taylor, Kyle Taylor, Austin martin, Marcus Brown, great grandchildren: Mya Taylor, Lucius Taylor IV, Ayden Taylor, Quinn Hart, Logan Hart, and her brother Marvin Potter and a host of nieces and nephews.
