

“Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" Frances Louise Hickson, daughter and oldest child of four was born on Monday January 04, 1943 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Frank Sr. & Willie Bell Boatwright.
At an early age, Frances professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at Gospel Ark Temple Bible Way Church under the leadership of Elder Eugene Bridges in Washington, D.C. where she was a dedicated member. Throughout her life, she also would attend Sunday services with her family at Rhema Christian Center & Park Road Community Church. 
She attended Neville Thomas Elementary School, Carter G. Woodson Junior High School & Martha Washington High School. Following high school, she held several jobs in her lifetime. Frances was employed with Kenilworth Parkside Recreation Center as the Director of Recreation’s, Tak-A-Toy handling warehouse operations and lastly IGA Supermarket as a lead cashier.

Frances met and married James Quincy Hickson on April 4, 1961 and to this union three beautiful children were born; Voncedia "Bonnie", Dianne "Dee Dee" & Tyrone Hickson.
Frances had a passion for sewing and enjoyed making home cooked meals. She was known for her baked macaroni and cheese, potato salad, fried chicken, pork chops and most of all her famous graham cracker cheesecake. She took great pride in raising her three loving children and her beautiful grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially durning the holidays. In her down time, Frances loved playing solitaire, doing crossword puzzles, going to bingo and taking bus trips to the casinos. She loved watching old westerns and cooking television shows. She was a fan of sports, especially football with the Green Bay Packer being her favorite team. 
Frances peacefully departed this life on Saturday, April 18, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents; Frank Sr. & Willie Bell Boatwright, Sister; Jean Boatwright, Brother; Frank Boatwright Jr., Daughter; Dianne Hickson & Grandson; Warren Stokes Jr.
Frances' beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her, Former Husband & Friend; James Hickson, Her baby brother; Richard Boatwright (Billetta), Daughter; Voncedia “Bonnie” Hickson, Son; Tyrone Hickson, Daughter In Love; Tina Hickson, Son In Love; John Jenkins Sr., Grandchildren; Brandon Hickson-Hamilton, Cheyla Hickson, Ambre’a Hickson, Shayla Hickson, Christopher Hickson, Tyshawn Hickson, Johntr’e Jenkins & John Jenkins Jr. Grandchildren In Love; Raymond Hickson-Hamilton, Shavohn Stokes, Asa Pierce & Kevin Jimmerson. Great-Grandchildren; Keyont’e Stokes, Deion Hickson, Kalani Chase, Mekhi Stokes, Gerrin Belton, Shania Stokes, Skylar Jimmerson, Khalil Hickson, Christopher Hickson Jr., Kevin Jimmerson Jr., Levi Jones & Demi Jones, Sister In Love; Yolanda Boatwright, Niece; Zakeya Boatwright, Nephew; Carl Boatwright, Dear Friends; Yvonne “Bonnie” Stokes & Desiree Jefferson, First Cousins; Dorothy Penn, Earl Cole (Jamie) & Jacqueline Hines (Westley). Frances also leaves a host of family, friends and extended family to cherish her memories forever.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.” II Tim. 4:7-8
