

On August 23, 1954, Fraunsa Martell Eley was born to the late Edna Smith Adams and Roscoe Harris in Bronx, New York. Preceded in death by her adopted parents Eurie A. Wooten and Charles D. Wooten. Also preceded in death by her stepfather Otis Adams.
Martell was educated in the Martin County Public School system and graduated from Williamston High School in 1972. She later matriculated at the Livingstone College where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood in 1976. While attending Livingstone College, she met the love of her life, Calvin Eley. They were married on May 28, 1977 and moved to Maryland after their first year of marriage. She taught Kindergarten for a year in Maryland. The remainder of her professional career was with the State of Maryland Department of Motor Vehicle Administration from which she retired in 2018 after 33 years of service.
Martell professed Christ at an early age at the Williams Chapel AME Zion Church where she served as Secretary. She also traveled and served as assistant to the Presiding Elder William A. Blackwell. Her membership with From the Heart Church Ministries had been continuous until her passing. She served as a member of the Membership Care Ministry. She enjoyed her church and the church family. Martell was a giver to anyone in need of her time and resources. She loved to travel. Family has always been important to her. Traveling to numerous Family Reunions, visiting during illness as well as assisting family members. Her love for her family was as big as her heart.
Martell leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 44 years, Calvin (of the home); Sister – Roslyn Harris; Brother – Adam Harris (Arklisha); 7 Brother-in-laws, 7 Sister-in-laws and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A very dear friend Virginia Woodruff and the Livingstone College Class of 1976.
