It was such an opportunity and a privilege to care for Mr. Cobb as he always reminded me of my dad. 

It was sad when we realized that death is creeping in and is slowly taking  our Cobb away. Today I  take solace in the fact that I will see him again.  I miss his smile and his dance, he loved music!

Dear Bert, Children and Family
There are so many memories that I have been thinking about when as little boys, Herman and I played together. Herman was special, intelligent and kind. He was like a breath of sunshine. He was the big brother that I never had. When Herman moved away from VA. with his family in 1949, we spent all day and night together. He didn’t want to move to North Carolina and I did not want my buddy to go. I would visit as a boy in N.C. and I always stayed with him. We always would see each other over the years. I am now 85 years old. God truly blessed Herman and I with a long life. I wanted to be there. My heart is sadden. I am missing him, but I know Herman is with God.
Thank you God for giving me the”Best, Cousin, Brother”in this world.
May God continue to Bless you Bert, Children, Grandchildren, Siblings and our families.

You can Rest In Perfect Peace Daddy knowing that you lived a Life Well Lived.  Every accomplishment you set out to achieve, you did it with intentional, thought out, researched and structured style.  The raising of us was a combination of Biblical principal, Moral standards, Structure, Guidance and Love.  I Thank You for everything you taught me, instilled in me and showed me by example.  My Love and Aww of you is beyond words !

My granddad was an amazing person! He was so intelligent but always willing to learn something new. He was loving but also stern. I thank God for blessing me with him for these years!!! I'll miss you Grandpa Herman (Aka Cool Herm!)

He would sing to me songs in preparation for Sunday service.  Yes, he was a great singer for those who didn’t know.

I am so thankful that I got to express to Uncle Herman, several years ago on the last occasion he visited our home for dinner, what he meant to me growing up...even though I didn't realize the impact his quiet dignity had on me until I was practically grown. He seemed surprised and a little embarrassed that he  WAS my father figure during my formative years, and that I hoped that I had made him proud as a man.  He and his local brother were my prime examples of how men should love on all children. 

I am overjoyed at the prospect now that he is in Glory and IN all his glory, perfected, dwelling with his savior. I look forward to embracing again him there.

To: Cousin Bert, Cheryl, Barbara, Len, and the entire Cobb family you are in my thoughts and prayers. Cousin Herman was a calm, caring, patient, intelligent family man who loved God. I never heard him raise his voice or come out of his character. My mom and cousin Herman grew up together. They both got married and played cards (pinochle) every weekend. I have many fond memories of those times. Cousin Barbara, Cheryl, Len, my sister, and I grew up together. We go way back. 

Cousin Herman gave me my name. He told my mom (Annie Davis) to name me Lovetta. She wanted to name me Michele. Cousin Herman said: Michele Lovetta doesn't sound right. Hence I was named Lovetta Michele.  

He will be missed but he is not lost. We know where he is in the presence of God! May God bless his memory.

On behalf of the descendants  Rayfield and Annie Cannon  (North Carolina  and Virginia), we send our sincere prayers, condolences, prayers  and well wishes to the Herman Cobb Jr family.  Many years have come and gone but memories of days long ago  still come to mind.  Caswell CountyNorth Carolina) was not the greatest place in world but it had some of the greatest families, greatest neighbors and friends.  I count the “Cobb” family in the circle of great families.

I used to enjoy watching football, with Mr.  Cobb, 20 some odd years ago. No more suffering, RIP.

My heart-felt prayers of comfort to the Cobb family and friends. I will always cherish the sage wisdom and advice that Pop Cobb would impart upon me. Also the moments we shared attending Track and Field Sporting events at the Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, MD. He was a true Man of God! (John A. Galloway)
