

James was born the eldest of four in Germantown MD on November 16, 1950. He was raised and attended school in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. He united with his late wife Wanda Francine Spinner Prather in 1998.
James obtained his Electrical license in 1999 and worked for several electrical companies before landing his dream job as a high voltage mechanic with the Washington Metropolitan area transit authority in 2012.
He enjoyed a wide range of hobbies such as fishing, tailor sewing, playing the trumpet, and giving old things new life. He also enjoyed traveling, cruising, and deep-sea fishing. He was a devout Jehovah’s witness who kept faith with his religious beliefs to the end.
He was preceded in his departure by his brother Daryll Prailow, and his Sister Robin Prailow. James leaves to cherish his memory Son Vernon Young, Daughters Allace Prather-Neverson, Keema Coates, Irita Byers.
