A time to be Born: Jay DeMarco VanHoose was born on June 5, 1990, to the late Susan VanHoose and Jay Alan Scott.
A time to Die: Jay transitioned from this life in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 22, 2021 at his home in Washington, D.C.
A Time to Sow: Educated in the DC public school system, Jay received his High School diploma from Calvin Coolidge High School. He attended church in his early years with his maternal grandfather at Unity of Washington, D.C.
A Time to Reap: Jay served as a Ramp Agent for American Airlines up until his passing. He held other various jobs, to include working for the Maryland Parks and Recreation and various jobs for his uncles Darryl VanHoose and Delyon Gigger in their respective businesses.
A Time to Love: Jay was loved and cherished by all. His personality was so warm that others were immediately attracted to him. There were many things that Jay really loved and one was family, as proven when he stepped up to take care of his younger siblings after the death of their mother.
Jay enjoyed life most when listening to music, dancing and hosting social parties. He loved music but unfortunately, singing was not one of his talents. So, Jay explored music in other ways. He managed the Perfection (P3) band who played at many local clubs. Jay was also an avid sports fan, particularly partial to the Atlanta Falcons football team. He was forever teasing his father about his beloved Redskins.
Jay’s friends describe him as a genuine stand-up guy. He had a loving, caring and sharing spirit and was always available to lend an ear if you were feeling down. But he is avidly remembered as being a major jokester. He was always on joke time and if you were around him, he would have you doubling over with laughter.
A Time to Mourn: He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Jay Scott, his brothers Tirrell and Ivory Gigger, his sister Diamond Gigger, his grandparents, James and Ethel Scott, his aunts Roxann (Carl) Brewer, Wanda VanHoose and Celeste VanHoose, his uncles James (Patricia) Scott, Richard Scott, Terry Scott and Darryl (MaShawn) VanHoose and a host of cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Susan VanHoose, his grandparents Bennie and Ethel Marie VanHoose and his uncle Bennie VanHoose.
