

John Marvin Pollard II, affectionately known as Lil’ Marvin, began his life’s journey on September 12, 1987 at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, MD. He was the first born son of John Marvin Pollard and Rebecca Jean Workman-Pollard, Preceded him in death.
Lil’ Marvin transitioned September 30th 2020 in Washington D.C. unexpectedly. To know Marvin was to love him. Known to be laid back, charismatic, and caring he was a connoisseur of tennis shoes and trendsetting style. A true foodie for fried chicken wings, mac and cheese, good pizza and always ready to enjoy tuna mac. A devoted, son, brother, uncle, and friend, a true reflection of kindness. Making each day his masterpiece, he enjoyed swimming, family, traveling and playing AAU Basketball for many years. He shared enthusiasm for the game and Kevin Durant who also played in the same league. A PlayStation skill master, he enjoyed teaching those he loved how to play, but never well enough to beat him.
Lil’ Marvin was very ambitions, collaborating with a job coach from 2009 to 2018. He knew the value of self-development, independence and worked hard to acquire his high school diploma in 2012 from
Prince George’s Community College. He navigated life through different educational and community programs, receiving various awards of recognition. He worked in the custodial industry for many years, recently securing a job at the U.S Pentagon.
Whatever the nature of our individual relationship with Lil’ Marvin, we pause to give thanks to God for having the privilege of loving and knowing him.
