She is survived by two loving sons, Michael (Vietta) and Lawrence (Tammy) Cunningham; one granddaughter, Sierra Cunningham; four step-grandchildren, Vietta, Douglas, Devin, and Darrien and a niece, June Lewis.
She was a graduate of Dunbar High School. She continued her education attending Miner Teachers College graduating with her bachelor’s degree in education, certifying her as a teacher. She taught in Prince George’s County Public Schools and Christian academies, where she retired after 50 years of devoted service. June also served her church, “From the Heart Ministries” as a deaconess for many years. She was well traveled domestic and internationally. If you knew her, you also knew her presence commanded the room with her stunning beauty both physically, and spiritually. She loved spreading the Word of God every chance she could, reading her Bible, dining out, shopping and traveling were her favorite things to do. Above all, God and her family always, always came first. She took pride in everything she did; always seeking perfection and a willingness to learn.
Your memory and spirit will live on forever in our hearts and souls. As we survive you, when we breathe, we inhale you, and will forever exhale the love you have given. Although your body is gone, when we walk, we know you are beside us, when we talk, you are in our thoughts, and when we mourn, your presence and the presence of God will be forever there to comfort us. You are forever imbedded in our souls.
Father God, your heavenly Angel that was sent to convert so many souls has flawlessly accomplished her mission. Jesus by Your stripes, it is done, she is now by your side. Thank you for a wonderful gift, our friend, teacher, and ambassador of love, our Mother.
