

LAMONTE GEORGE WYCHE, JR. was born in Chicago, Illinois. He attended and received his diploma from Archbishop John Carroll High School in Washington, D.C. LaMonte Jr. matriculated to and graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) in which he earned a Bachelor's Degree, with an area of specialization in Sociology. During his tenure at UMBC he competed and was able to earn a Fellowship with the Central Intelligence Agency. This career enhancing experience paved the way for him to contribute to a project in Atlanta, Georgia that served to enhance his skill sets, while providing an employment opportunity, with the Office of Information and Technology.
LaMonte, Jr. was a public servant. Indeed, "A Man for the People." For example, in 1989 The Peace Commission of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, D. C., under the auspices of the United States/Soviet Relations Committee, selected LaMonte Jr., as one of 17 other student- parishioners, to participate in a pilgrimage to Russia. They sought to demonstrate, through their own behavioral examples, that Love, and not hate, finds a way to be constructive. Upon returning to the states he focused his attention on feeding the hungry in his community. This led to the founding of the "Kwanza Kitchen." Essentially, he utilized his St. George's home parish to prepare and serve meals that would benefit members of the community, at the same time, he would facilitate small group discussions that would address various avenues leading to ideas relative to self-motivation, biblical scriptures, and various topics that would entail keeping the flame of HOPE Alive!
The Men of St. George's offered its recognition, with great appreciation, for his stellar contributions to the Mission of both St. George's Parish, and the larger surrounding community. Accordingly, LaMonte Jr. was distinguished and awarded "The Man of the Year Award." Additionally, LaMonte, Jr. contributed his leadership skill sets to such activities, as the Christian Education Sunday School Program, the Free to be Me Summer Church Program, while remaining engaged in youth related ventures supported by his noble fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi.
Most notably, in light of LaMonte Jr.'s many significant commitments, he was bent on snatching the time to give of himself; by giving another individual a "Birthday Shout-out; by Checking in with a phone call; or, by just texting to remind each of us:

LaMonte Jr. leaves persons very dear to him to REJOICE and to CHERISH the sweet memories of life lived, his way, namely: a loving mother, Jamesetta Clash to his three sons; LaMonte G. Wyche, III (Stacy); James T. Wyche; and, Mason Z. Wyche; a granddaughter, Isabella Grace Wyche (Bell Bell); beloved parents, mother, the late Janise Morgan Wyche; father, Dr. LaMonte G. Wyche, Sr.; two sisters; Tracey Wyche Prather (Kenneth); Dr. Marla E. Wyche; four patriarchal relatives; three nieces: Courtney Wyche; Tatum Hall; Cayla Wyche; and one nephew: Lincoln Hall; and a host of family members and friends.
