AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Linda J. Smith

17 août 1941 – 12 mars 2020
Avis de décès de Linda J. Smith
AUX SOINS DE

Fort Lincoln Funeral Home & Cemetery

Linda Juanita Smith was born August 17, 1941 in Washington, D.C. to the late Travis R. Pace, Sr. & Annie Lee Pace (Durham). She fell asleep in death, with her family at her side, on March 12, 2020 at the Capital Caring Hospice in Washington, D.C.

Linda attended Roosevelt Senior High School, graduating in 1959. After graduating high school, she went on to work for the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. as a communications operator and retired in 2014.

Linda was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1973, along with her then husband, Bernard J. Smith, Jr., at the International Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses in Philadelphia, PA. She was 7 months pregnant with her son B.J. when she was baptized and as she put it, "she was as big as a house!." She loved to participate in the ministry as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, especially visiting elderly ones in the nursing homes to cheer them up.

Linda was well known for her genuine love and concern of people. She deeply loved her family, congregation members and friends. Her beautiful bubbly personality and great sense of humor made her so easy to love and attracted so many. She will be remembered for her distinctive expressions such as “dah dah dah,” “I don’t mean no harm,” and “that’s besides the point!”.

She is survived by her children, daughter Patricia Ann Pace (Moo); her son, Bernard Julius Smith, III (B.J.); her daughter Stephenie Alexandra Greene (Snow Bunny); her devoted son in law, Devon F. Greene (Chief, Doctor Devon) and her brothers, Travis R. Pace, Jr., better known as Bubbie and Julius R. Pace. She also leaves behind a host of family members whom she dearly loved.
