Margaret Hurt Morton of Clinton, MD (93 years old) departed this life peacefully on January 7, 2026. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who loved her family. Born in Phenix City, AL, Ms. Morton moved to Washington DC in 1955 where she resided until she moved to Maryland in 2022. She was a member of the New Macedonia Baptist Church, in Washington DC. Ms. Morton was also an avid walker and line dancer who was an active member of the Iverson Mall Walkers for over 30 years. She leaves behind to mourn her passing, her beloved son Michael S. Morton (Cheryl), one granddaughter Lindsay Morton and one grandson David Odoms Morton, sister Julia Ann Robinson, two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews with whom she was also very close along with host of other relatives and friends.
There will be a celebration of Margaret Morton’s life at the Chapel of the Fort Lincoln Cemetery on Friday, May 22, 2026. The family and friends visitation will be from 12:30 pm. until time of the funeral service 1:30 pm.
