She graduated from Western High School and the University of the District of Columbia. She was a Program Officer with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Connie was a Trekkie since the USS Enterprise began “boldly going where no one has gone before” on Star Trek in 1966. She was always creating something. In her youth, she made scented Christmas candles, and as an adult, she crocheted and knitted for others, made stained-glass windows and pictures frames. Her artistry has been honored at several county fairs and exhibits in Maryland.
Connie is lovingly remembered by her sister, Rev. Dr. Susan Newman Moore, (Obra J. Moore, III), Vincent L. Dabney and Arnettle Rainey Williams, cousins with whom she’s had a close bond, and many loved ones from the Dabney and Newman Families. Services are private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lillian Dabney Newman Scholarship, Lancaster Bible College/Capitol Seminary and Graduate School, 7852 Walker Drive Suite 100, Greenbelt, MD 20770.
