Dr. Mildred Maxine Davis of Columbia, Maryland was summoned by God to come home. Maxine was born January 7th 1927 in Ocala, Florida to the late Charles and Marjorie Martin. There were two siblings, the late Emma Mae and Minnie Lee Martin. She joined Hopewell Baptist Church at an early age in Ocala, Florida and when moved to Washington DC joined Florida Avenue Baptist Church. Dr. Davis graduated from Howard Academy High School in Ocala, Florida, received her bachelor's degree from Howard University of Washington DC where she joined Beta Phi Beta Sorority. Then later received her PhD from American University.

Maxine shared 62 years of marriage with Attorney William C Davis. They both loved to travel to the extent that they visited every continent in the world with the exception of Antarctica. Maxine also enjoyed hanging out with her Dear Friends of the Lunch Bonche' Crew, exercising and ballroom dancing.

She leaves to mourn, cousins Mildred Parker, Vance Parker (Vickie), Von Parker, Vantrice Adams (Thomas), brother-in-law Nelson Davis, cousin Alton W Clegg (Betty), nieces and nephews, and a very special friend of 65 years Vera Rolark Abbott.
