

Patricia was born in Philadelphia, Pa, on June 15, 1953. On Tuesday January 19, 2016, Patricia Hampton Dorn age 62 died at Walter Reed Military Hospital Center in Bethesda Maryland. She was diagnosed with cancer (Lukemia) on February 11, 2015. After nearly a year, cancer took her life. At her bedside was her devoted husband Melvin W. Dorn Jr., her loving daughter Malissa Duckett and her very good friend Debera Glapion whom she loved like a sister.
Patricia (Pat) lived with her parents Elwood Hampton and the late Gloria Hampton and family in Paulsboro, New Jersey. After high school, she married her first husband the late Donald Duckett. They had two children but later divorced. Some years later she met Melvin W. Dorn Jr., they had a wonderful friendship for ten years, later they married on October 20, 1989 and remained a beautiful family for twenty seven years.
Pat received Certificates of Business from the Harris School of Business, from Glassboro State College and Gloucester County College. She became proficient in short hand. Pat was employed by Marine Engineers Beneficial Association/National Maritime Union MEBA/NMU before the name changed to Industrial Technical Professional Employees (ITPE) in Washington, DC, where she worked for eighteen years.
Pat enjoyed spending time with family and close friends on special occasions and always capturing moments with camera in hand. She loved bowling, dancing, music and singing. Every time a song came to mind she would sing. Pat was a collector of photos whenever a family event would take place. She was always enthusiastic and talked about the family history moments.
She is survived by her husband Melvin W. Dorn Jr., her two children Malissa J. Duckett of Maryland, Donald L. Duckett of California and daughter in-law Amira Minassion of California. Six grandchildren Dajah, Shadai, Taiha, Amiri, Malik and Jaden and one great grandchild Brooke all of Maryland.
She is also survived by her father Elwood Hampton and her “mommie” Elena Hampton both of Paulsboro, NJ. Three sisters, Brenda Gray of Maryland, Angela Hampton of Paulsboro, NJ and Janice Hampton of Millville, NJ. Two brothers Charles Hampton of Paulsboro, NJ and Mark Hampton of Woolwich Township, N.J; two sisters in law Deborah Hampton and Carmela Hampton of New Jersey. Pat leaves behind uncles and aunts and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. All of whom she loves very dearly.
