Queen Elizabeth Beards "Queen Perkins” was born on August 12th, 1938 in Monroe, Virginia, to the late James and Lila Perkins. Queen entered into eternal rest on Tuesday July 15th,2025 , at the home she shared with her kids and grandkids.
Queen received her formal education in the Watts School District in Monroe, Virginia. As a young adult she relocated to Washington DC where she first worked at the Hot Shoppe and then went to work for the US Postal Service where she retired at the age 55. During her free time, she enjoyed gardening, hosting cookouts with her husband In their backyard, talking on the phone with family members, best friends and her dearest friend Shirley and spending the with her husband and kids.
Queen was preceded in death by her parents James and Lila Perkins and husband William A. Beards. She leaves to cherish her memory her two children Marcia L. Johnson and William A. Beards; three grandchildren, DeAndre' M. Johnson, Darnisha N. Johnson and Kennedi A. Beards; one sister Alberta Logan of Philadelphia and a host of relatives and friends.
