Robin's educational journey began in the District of Columbia Public Schools, where she developed a strong passion for music. She started playing the violin at Brown Junior High School. At the age of 12, she took the initiative to attend charm school, where she refined her social skills and learned the importance of confidence and etiquette. As a devoted daughter, she often helped her mother clean homes for others, embodying her motto: "If it doesn’t smell like bleach, then it’s not clean."
Robin cherished family gatherings and looked forward to cookouts, Fourth of July celebrations, Christmas, and the annual family reunion, all filled with laughter and togetherness. Known for her good spirit, she frequently extended a helping hand to elderly neighbors, ensuring they felt supported and cared for.
Robin leaves behind six children: Van Robinson III (Ebony), Ashley Notice, Ashbea, Robert, Leonard, and Taylor Williams. Her role as a mother was central to her identity, and she instilled values of kindness and community service in her children. In addition to her responsibilities as a mother, Robin was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren: Van Robinson IV, Van Deontae Robinson, Khloe Goodwin, Heaven Lee Robinson, Daliyah Williams, Emmanuel Mason, Malakhi Notice, A'Khira Caldwell, and AshMir Williams. She eagerly anticipated the arrival of her tenth grandchild, Kariyah Colbert, and cherished her great-grandchild, Ah'sani Robinson, who brought additional light to her life.
Robin was the sister of the late Mary Smith, as well as Patricia and James Williams. She is survived by her loving siblings: Barbara Washington, Ernest, Kimberly, and Phyllis Williams. Throughout her life, Robin was known for her warm spirit and unwavering kindness. Her presence will be profoundly missed.
