May 27, 1954 – May 30, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia “Marion” DeLeon, who departed this life on May 30, 2025, to join the ancestors in eternal peace.
Born on May 27, 1954, in the Village of San Juan, Trinidad & Tobago. Marion was the granddaughter of Felix and Basilia Hemenez and the beloved daughter of Cito and Isedria DeLeon. She was the ninth of ten children, affectionately known as the “spoil child” of the family. Her nickname “Marion” was inspired by the Marian Year declared by the Catholic Church at the time of her birth — a fitting beginning for someone whose presence was deeply cherished.
Marion was the devoted sister of Vanessa, Christine, Christina, Gloria (deceased), Martin, Allan, Joseph and Anthony. She was also a loving sister-in-law to Irma (deceased), Monica, Irene, Valerie, Richard McCollin, Elliott, Gill (deceased) and Carlisle Paul (deceased).
She was the proud and loving mother of Janelle, Ronette, Dwight, and Shane. The adoring grandmother of Terrelle, Kaedan, Kaiel, Dwight, Ezekiel, Donavan and Christian. She was also a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a true friend to Georgia and countless others.
Marion will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and unwavering love for her family. She had a generous spirit, a kind heart, and the remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the memories she created with those around her.
A funeral service will be held on June 20, 2025, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and bid her a peaceful farewell.
She is gone from our sight but will never be forgotten from our hearts. Rest in eternal peace, Marion.
