Avis de décès de Yvonne Taylor
AUX SOINS DE

Fort Lincoln Funeral Home & Cemetery

Wife-Mother-Grandmother-Matriarch

Yvonne T. Taylor

July 11, 1936 - January 27, 2021

Yvonne Taylor passed peacefully from this life the night of January 27, 2021. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family during the last day of her life. Yvonne was born to Wallace and Mable Taylor on July 11,1936 in Albany, Georgia. She accepted Christ at an early age as a Methodist at Cray’s Chapel CME in Albany, Georgia and later worshipped as a Baptist at Galilee Baptist Church, and Evangel Missionary Baptist in Washington D.C. She joined Christ First Community Church located in Lanham, Maryland and served as a Deaconess Emeritus until her death.

Yvonne’s academic achievements were exceptional, she was advanced two grades at Carver Junior High School in Albany, Ga., she earned numerous Citizenship awards and she won several spelling bee competitions. She also volunteered as a Teacher’s Assistant at Langdon Elementary School in Washington, D.C.

Married at the tender age of 16, to Sidney L. Taylor, Sr., this 68-year union produced seven children--whom she nurtured, guided, instructed about life and loved unconditionally.

“MA” as she was affectionally known, was a Mother-to-all, not only to her children but, to the village children as well. She served as a confidant and was entrusted with the most intimate issues.

She was firm but fair, constitutionally strong, disciplinary correct and morally straight. Her homemaking skills were exemplary, whether it was cooking, decorating, or landscaping. She enjoyed nature and growing plants. She could make anything grow. She was considered by many to have a Green Thumb. She would spend hours completing her projects and proclaim at its conclusion “now that’s TAYLOR MADE”!

She leaves to mourn her Husband of 68 years, Sidney L. Taylor, Sr., five surviving children, Sidney Jr. (Vernary), Ronald Sr. (Darla), Seabron, Sharon (Louis) and Sabrina, a son Gregory Sr. and a daughter Yvette - both preceded her in death, a Goddaughter - Cherese Brauer, an adopted daughter Marshene Harriston, three surviving sisters--Emma Harris, Betty Coe and Imogene Williams, of Albany Ga, two sisters-Mamie Wooden and Juanita Williams preceded her in death, Thirteen Grandchildren, Vearnetta (Tyree), Gregory Jr., Matrice (Gerald Sr.), Louis III, Tanice, Shavon, Ronald Jr., Brandon, Shaylind, Jerome Jr., Sidney, Cameron and Miles. Six Great-Grandchildren, Harmonii, Monroe, Arianna, Lamar, Liam and Gerald Jr., numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews and devoted friends.

Our Matriarch has transitioned but her Spirit lives.
