Earl Buskirk

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 7, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ with Pastor Bill Ferrero officiating. Burial will be at the Bayard Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bayard Memorial Chapel.

Earl was born on October 26, 1941, north of Bayard to Carl Friend and Augusta (Opkis) Buskirk. He attended Bayard Public Schools. He married Sharalyn Esterly on October 5, 1961 and to this union five children were born, Eugene, Roger, Teresa, Sharalyn and Charlene. He later married Judy Shaw in 1980 added two additional children to their family Carl and Shannon.

Earl spent over 30 years in the trucking industry, the majority of is as a “bull hauler” and up til July of 2007 hauling gravel.

He enjoyed horseback and motorcycling, building furniture and working on trucks. He also loved his family especially annoying his children.

He was a member of the Ya’ll Come Motorcycle Club.

Survivors include his wife Judy; children Eugene (Pam) Buskirk of Scottsbluff; Roger (Nancy) Buskirk of Bayard, Teresa LeMay (Eddie Requejo) of Gering, Carl (Rachel) Shaw of Harrison, Sharalyn Buskirk (Sonny Johnson) of Lakewood, CO, Shannon Hall (Travis) of Bridgeport, Charlene Claflin (Rusty Norris) of Melbeta and Cindy (Jim) Erb of Oshkosh; 22 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; siblings Vernon (Eveyln) Buskirk and Evaletta Brown all of Placerville, CA, Alvetta Starr (Levi) of Marysville, CA., Pearl Steffensmeier (Jack) of Darrington, WA., and David (Irene) Buskirk of Bayard and numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brothers Marvin and Arthur, brothers Albion and wife Agnes and Willard and wife Betty and brother-in-law Paul Brown.
