Basilia "Viola" Knoppa

Basilia "Viola" Knoppa (nee Ingrelli), Passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the age of 87. Vi was born on April 25, 1923 to parents Carmello and Grace Ingrelli. Vi grew up and raised her family on Milwaukee ’s Eastside. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Casimir Knoppa and first grandson Kyle Kaszubowski. Loving mother to Karen (Jon) Kaszubowski and Thomas (Jackie) Knoppa. Vi was a devoted, “Precious” Nana to Kevin (Abbey) Kaszubowski, Jeff Kaszubowski (Katie), Stephanie Knoppa, Michael Knoppa and Great Nana to Patrick Moriarty. Vi is welcomed into heaven by all her sisters and brothers; the late Rose Guiffre, Joseph Ingrelli, Tony Ingrelli, Nancy White, Connor Ingrelli, Mary Sikorski and Grace Pyle. Also survived by loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Vi was a hair stylist for 30+ years in the North Shore area, and spent her life caring and giving selflessly to family, friends and co-workers . She shared her Italian heritage through her gifts of cooking, baking, needlepoint and other hand crafted items made with love for her family, friends or anyone who needed her kindness. Talking Italian recipes always made her smile. She joyfully taught her family the art of Italian cooking, but her culinary skills were unsurpassed. Vi leaves cherished memories that will be forever treasured in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. Heartfelt gratitude to the Horizon In-Home Hospice Staff and the nursing staff at the Horizon Hospice Center in Mequon . Vi loved her weekly visits from her special friend Susan Gruenwald, her hospice nurse Kim and her caregivers Taieri and Barb.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, 11 AM at Three Holy Women Catholic Parish-St. Rita Church, 1601 N. Cass St. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation Monday at the Church from 9 AM until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in Milwaukee or the Legacy Fund at Three Holy Women Catholic Parish would be appreciated.
