Buena Ventura Peña De Leon, our beloved matriarch entered God’s loving embrace on the morning of January 6, 2026. She was 91 years old. Ventura died as she lived—surrounded by the family she cherished, held by the love she spent a lifetime cultivating.
Born on July 14, 1934, Ventura was a woman of remarkable skill. Her hands were rarely still. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, and she possessed a legendary “green thumb”. She could coax life from the earth, growing anything, she set her mind to grow and pass this passion on to her children and grandchildren.
Her home served as the De Leon Homebase for many years of holidays, birthdays, and family gatherings of all kinds. Her spirit of service extended far beyond her own front door. For many years, Ventura served as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), dedicating her career to caring for the elderly with dignity, patience, and compassion.
