Mrs. Catherine Fogel

Raised in Logansport, Indiana, Kay was the oldest of four siblings. Growing up she could always be found with a book in her hands, which continued to be true throughout her life. At the advice of her mother, she attended Mount Mary College in Milwaukee where she studied dietetics. After graduation, she spent a year interning at a hospital in Cleveland before landing a job running the dietary department at Parkview Hospital in Ft Wayne, IN. While working at Parkview Hospital she met and married the love of her life Albert Fogel. After marrying in 1973, they moved around the Midwest before settling in Sussex, Wi where they raised their family. Kay was a stay at home mom and was best known for her showing her love through food and cooking often making multiple main dishes for family meals in order to keep her kids and grand kids happy. After her children were grown, Kay enjoyed working part time at the college bookstore and babysitting her grandkids.

In her retirement, Kay enjoyed regular lunch outings and card games with her sisters, trips to the casino, reading any books she could get her hands on, caring for her pug Napoleon and multiple stray cats, spending time with AL and being a grandmother.

Kay will be remembered for her out-of-pocket humor, playful instigation of disputes, fierce independence and dedication to her family

She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Albert; her brother John Luxem; her step son Allen Fogel, her step grandson Tatum Harsh and her beloved pug Napolean.

She is survived by her sisters Nancy (Gregory) Bynan and Mary Ellen Luxem, Sister in law- Liz Luxem, sons Michael (Anne-Marie) Fogel and Christopher (Christina Fogel); Step children Theresa (David) Derrickson ; Cheri (Wayne) Perry; and Keith Fogel; Grandchildren Maria (Joshua)Buchinger, Ethan Fogel, Bryanna Fogel, Mikhaila Fogel, Grace Fogel, and Weston Fogel. Step Grandchildren Kip Harsh, Alessia Perry, Rachel Thieken (Mike), Kelly Wertz (Barry), Ashley Cramer (James), Nicholas Derickson

Great- grand children Max, Reese, Quinn, Everly, Ethan, Emmett, Teddy, Sawyer, Logan, Noelle, Reed, Daniel, Jeremiah, and Annalisa. And great great grand granddaughter Cece.
