December 27, 2024 age 79. Beloved husband of Carol (nee Zivkovich) Dear father of Jennifer (Kevin) Martin and Laura (Todd) Ireland. Proud grandpa of Breanna, Benjamin, Logan, Shannon and William. Brother of Thomas (Lu) Merten. Best friend of 65 years to Richard “Rocky” Schroeder. Preceded in death by his parents Edward and Grace Merten. Also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation Saturday, January 11 at WISCONSIN MEMORIAL PARK-CHAPEL OF THE CHIMES 13235 W. Capitol Dr. from 1:00 PM until time of service at 2:30 PM. Entombment at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
Dan was a retired employee of Briggs and Stratton and Payne and Dolan. After retiring he spent his time enjoying his home on the lake up north, making memories with his family. He also served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
